Makes 8 to 12 servings

One of my favorite slaws. It goes great with barbecued ribs, and it's delicious, even without the typical mayonnaise.

1/4 cup bottled or homemade barbecue sauce (see Rick's Famous BBQ Sauce with Ribs recipe)
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
3/4 cup vegetable oil
8 cups shredded green cabbage (1 small head)
1 1/2 cup grated radishes (about 8 large radishes)
4 scallions, finely chopped

1. In a large bowl, whisk the barbecue sauce, vinegar, celery seed, salt, and pepper. Gradually whisk in the oil. Add the cabbage, radishes, and scallions and mix well.

2. Cover and refrigerate until chilled, at least 1 hour. Serve chilled.
